A first in Fiji, the event was aimed at fundraising for and raising awareness on the 17 voluntary commitments Fiji made at the United Nations Ocean Conference in New York in June.

Deemed a success ,the Gala was attended by various private entities, NGO’s and Government stakeholders, projects and networks. Selected stakeholders gave speeches on how their organization, project or department was working towards meeting or supporting Fijis voluntary commitments, while Nem and Talei entertained the crowd.

WiFN-Fiji is proud to be one of the recipients of the Fellowship of the Ocean Fundraiser, these funds will go towards the Voluntary Commitment WiFN-Fiji made, which aims at

Promoting Gender Equality in Sustainable Fisheries Management and Development in Fiji.

WiFN-Fiji would like to thanks the organizers of the 2017 Fellowship of the Oceans Gala and looks forward to supporting future events.
