The WiFN – Fiji Secretariats attended a 2-day training program facilitated by Mr. Nemani Susu from the Partners in Community Development Fiji (PCDF) on Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) in Suva on the 18th -19th September 2024.
The Training target was to build the WiFN-Fiji Secretariats capacity to understand the CBDRM concepts and relate them with different disaster-related situations in our targeted project areas in Fiji.
After the training, the WiFN- Fiji Secretariats are now equipped with guidance and support from partner stakeholders to train our 9 communities from the USAID Pacific Islands – Pacific American Fund Project and the 10 communities from the Fiji AHP – Australian Humanitarian Partnership Project. With the focus on community led Climate Action/Disaster Risk Reduction planning and implementation. Also strengthening the communities in Preparedness, Response and Recovery efforts using local knowledge and capacity.
