In November 2023, a team from WiFN-Fiji conducted a baseline survey mainly focusing on disaster risk reduction, waste management, gender equality and social inclusion in the Districts of Nakorotubu and Navolau that is part of the Collective action for improving ecosystem and livelihood resilience for Fijian communities in Ra, funded by The Pacific American Fund (PAF) Project.
The Project supports actions for marine biodiversity and ecosystem resilience for an equitable human- environment relationship through capacity building and improved environment management using a gender and social inclusion lens (GESI) and strengthening resilience through improved environment and household waste management and disaster preparedness and response planning. We would like to acknowledge all the stakeholders: Pacific American Fund and the Nakorotubu and Navolau Districts for making this survey a truly informative one and we look forward to continuously working with these communities in the future.
