The Women in Fisheries Network – Fiji, successfully delivered a two-day Basic Seafood Safety and Handling training on 29th–30th October 2025 for 14 participants from Viwa Island, generously funded by the Geoff Bamford Foundation.
Facilitated by Ms. Sera Vaniqi, the training covered topics: ranged from, seafood spoilage, the Causes and prevention of spoilage, Mapping the seafood supply chain, identifying critical control points (CCPs), Strategies to address CCPs summed up with a Hands-on practical session. This is part of a broader vision of promoting sustainable seafood practices creating pathways in seafood safety and handling.
