Oxfam Partners Preliminary SEED Workshop- 8th -12th May, 2017

WIFN was invited to participate in a 1 week Workshop to review the Social Economic Empowerment & Development (SEED) Framework proposed for use in Fiji by Oxfam.

SEED aims to facilitate programme design that drives gender-just, green, vibrant and productive economic activity.

The workshop was held at the Warwick on Monday 8^th May to Friday 12 May, 2017. Five (5) other NGOs involved in community work were also available to provide practical experiences on the type of work they do, the different tools used, the processes and protocols followed to collect information about various communities and the type of community social and economic empowerment work they each provide.

Lengthy discussions were held on the practicality of SEED compared to tools already in use by the various organisations that attended the workshop.

A follow up workshop to the Preliminary SEED workshop will be held on June 8^th, 2017. It is anticipated that the next workshop will contain amendments and changes and proposals from the preliminary workshop and partner organisations will be able to make a definite stand on SEED, its methodologies and processes and whether it can be adopted by their NGOs.
