From June 2-6, 2025, representatives from Vitawa, Togovere, and Nanukuloa came together for a Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) Training, facilitated by WiFN – Fiji with support from Oxfam in the Pacific, AHP – Australian Humanitarian Partnership and the Australian Government.

The training focused on safeguarding, inclusion, leadership awareness, and strengthening Community Disaster Management Committees (CDMCs) to ensure effective preparedness and response to both rapid and slow-onset disasters. Participants engaged in discussions on local and modern knowledge, identifying priority risk reduction actions to enhance resilience.

A heartfelt thank you to all stakeholders—DFAT, Fiji AHP, Oxfam in the Pacific and Vitawa, Togovere, Nanukuloa community representatives—for their contributions in making this training a success. We look forward to more impactful disaster preparedness initiatives for our communities.
