WiFN-Fiji is grateful to have been part of this training where the learnings would definitely contribute to WiFN-Fiji's preparedness and response efforts.
The training is intended to strengthen the capacity of communities, to conduct household waste audit, and to develop innovative solutions using the local knowledge of community members and project partners.
The WiFN – Fiji Secretariats attended a 2-day training program facilitated by Mr. Nemani Susu from the Partners in Community Development Fiji (PCDF) on Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) in Suva on the 18th -19th September 2024.
Massive Congratulations to these 5 women trainers of Nakorolevu that went back with the skills they had acquired and trained the women of the Nakorolevu women’s club with fabric art, contemporary weaving, jewellery making and tailoring – in the span of 2 weeks from the original training of trainers’ workshop.
The WiFN team presented these communities with a Disaster Preparedness Kit for Women fishers after a capacity building exercise on a preparedness plan when out at sea/mangroves when a disaster strikes.
WiFN team reported back to the District of Conua on the on-going #SPSV project on “Activating & nurturing fisherwomen and their families for development”
